FLUTES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE


This is an F# flute made of spalted Magnolia with California Black Walnut. With an overall length of 20 7/8", this flute has a 7/8" bore. The English Walnut bear peers over a chimney cut in the block made of spalted Magnolia with an Eastern Red Cedar base. Multiple coats of polymerized tung oil serve as the basis for a hand-rubbed finish. This flute includes a fleece bag. A sound file (.MP3 or .WAV format) is available.

This Alaskan Yellow Cedar flute has a Koa endcap and mouthpiece. It is a 7/8" bore flute tuned to the key of E and is 25 3/4" long. The Koa block has pearl buttons inset on each side. A woodburned tree-of-life symbol adorns the top of the block. A vertical chimney helps protect the flute's beautiful song from stray breezes. Block and flute are finished with polymerized tung oil. The yellow fleece bag is included with this flute. A sound file (.MP3 or .WAV format) is available.

This bored Cherry flute is 27.5" long with a 1 1/4" bore and is tuned to the key of B.

The flute features a Cocobolo mouthpiece. Twin inlay rings on each end of the flute are inlaid using Kingman mine turquoise. The block is carved from Cherry and features a free-form deer antler carving suspended on three brass rods. The heavy 'vine' winding from the top to the bottom of the flute was created by aging the cherry with an ebonizing solution. Individual tendrils and ivy-like leaves are wood burned and the leaves are colored using aniline dye.

The flute was finished using polymerized tung oil, orange shellac and spray lacquer. A fleece bag is included with this flute. A sound file (.MP3 or .WAV format) is available.

This 7/8" bore flute is spalted Red Elm with a Black Walnut mouthpiece and end cap. The block is a free-form wing shape carved from Ebony. The wing is embedded in Black Walnut with Ebony end caps and a thin line of turquoise inlay. Tuned to the key of E, this flute also features red coral inlay bands. The finish is Orange Shellac. Overall length is about 25 3/16". This flute comes with a custom fleece bag.

This Mulberry flute is a 22 1/4" long, 7/8" bore instrument tuned to the key of F#.

The block has an enclosed chimney which helps keep stray breezes from stealing the flute's music. The base is Eastern Red Cedar with layers of Ambonya Burl and Mulberry. A 3/8" Mulberry circle is inlaid into the top Ambonya layer. Cutouts reveal underlying Mulberry.

Decorative features include diamond shapes with double diamonds composed of Kingman mine turquoise. Single diamonds are pipestone. 1/4" Ambonya dots are inlaid within each diamond. The central figure includes an 3/8" Ambonya circle with pipestone inlay arms and wood burned "rays." The flute was finished using polymerized tung oil (sealer and high lustre), orange shellac and spray lacquer. A panther-paw print fleece bag was included with this flute.

This is an Appalachian White Cedar flute featuring a block with a stylized bear carved from Eastern Red Cedar standing on White Cedar. This flute is tuned in the key of A. The surface of the flute was ebonized before being finished with multiple coats of polymerized tung oil and orange shellac. This flute is 18 1/8" long.

This 18 3/4" long, 3/4" bore, Cherry flute is tuned to the key of A. The flute and free-form Cherry block feature Ebony inlay circles. The block also has two Maple inlay circles on each side. The finish features hand-rubbed orange shellac on top of a multi-coat base of polymerized tung oil.

This is a very sweet sounding F composed of Western Red Cedar with an Eastern Red Cedar block. The flute has a loud, clear voice. Polymerized tung oil and orange shellac were used to finish the wood. Ties are deer hide. Wood-burned feathers are presented on the bird and at the bore end of the flute.

This F# flute is Mulberry. Paired rings of Azurite and red Pipestone contain flakes of Paua Abalone shell. The stair-step block - composed of Mulberry and Eastern Red Cedar, has several wood-burned patterns and a small sun symbol featuring an abalone shell. With an overall length of about 21.5", this flute was finished inside and out using shellac.
